The simple version
This covers how most edge+ customers run card payments.

1) We set up the merchant account

A merchant account is what allows card payments to be authorised and moved from your customer’s bank to yours.

2) You take payments

You’ll use a card terminal or software (terminal, app, or online gateway). We supply it, set it up, and support it.

3) You get paid next working day

Payments are batched together and paid into your bank account next working day, in full.

Example: Take £100 today → £100 lands in your bank tomorrow. Multiple payments arrive as one single settlement.

Who does what
This is what keeps things simple when something changes or breaks.

edge+ manages

The setup, terminals/software, day-to-day support, and the overall payments configuration.

Processors handle

The card processing in the background — authorisations, messaging, and scheme routing.

You control

Your pricing, your settlement bank account, and how you take payments day-to-day.

Flexible setups
Not every business needs the full stack on day one.

Gateway-only or existing accounts

Most customers use our full card payments setup, but we can also help with:

  • Gateway-only solutions
  • Keeping an existing merchant account
  • Multi-provider or specialist setups

If you already have something in place, we’ll tell you whether it’s worth keeping — and we’re happy to work around it.
